HAMDEN, CT – After a three-decade run, the annual Memorial Day Weekend Classic Car Show staged by the Connecticut Classic Chevy club won’t be held this year. Citing “many reasons, several of which were beyond our control,” the club announced Saturday the decision to discontinue the show. The notice was posted on its website.
Held in the parking lot out the M&T Bank Arena at Quinnipiac University, the show was open to all makes and models, and was staged with the support of the the Hamden Police and the town. News of the show’s end quickly spread over the weekend on social media.

“Our goal was to support local charities within our surrounding community. We are proud to say that we were able to donate over $700.000 during this successful 30-year run,” the club said in declaring “the end of an era.”
The club thanked sponsors, club members, volunteers and participants who have enjoyed the show since its debut in 1995.
