Fidelco Cancels Car Show Due to Kennel Cough

BLOOMFIELD, CT – The Octoberfest Fall Festival, Open House and Car Show planned for this Saturday (Oct. 4) by the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation has been canceled due to kennel cough.

In a social media post on Wednesday afternoon, Fidelco explained, “Some of our dogs-in-training are being treated for kennel cough. Though this condition is not dangerous with proper care, it is highly contagious among dogs, and we must avoid any risk of spreading it.”

Fidelco called the cancellation “disheartening” and said the foundation is “disappointed” to share the news. The event was planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 103 Vision Way in Bloomfield, CT. Refunds for those who have registered may be obtained by emailing myates@fidelco.org.

Fidelco is a non-profit organization that trains and places guide dogs.
