DEARBORN, MI – Less than three weeks after electric automaker Tesla slashed the prices of its vehicles, Ford responded today by reducing prices for its electric Mustang Mach-E. “We are not going to cede ground to anyone,” said brand EV executive Marin Gjaja in a statement announcing the price rollback.
Ford adjusted downward the MSRPs on the various 2023 Mustang Mach-E variants from $600 to $5,900 per model. Existing Mustang Mach-E customers awaiting delivery will automatically receive the adjusted price. Customers who bought their vehicle after Jan. 1, 2023 and already have their Mustang Mach-Es will be contacted by Ford.
Ford said the updated pricing is part of the company’s plan “to keep the SUV competitive in a rapidly changing market.” The company also plans to significant increase production of the Mustang Mach-E.
“We are producing more EVs to reduce customer wait times, offering competitive pricing and working to create an ownership experience that is second to none,” said Gjaja. “Our customers are at the center of everything we do – as we continue to build thrilling and exciting electric vehicles, we will continue to push the boundaries to make EVs more accessible for everybody.”
The price of a rear-wheel-drive, standard range Mustang Mach-E has been cut $900 to $45,995 from $46,895. An all-wheel-drive, standard range model has been cut $600 to $48,995 from $49,595. At the high end, an extended range GT model has been reduced $5,900 to $63,995 from $69,895.
“Part of our mission at Ford is to treat customers like family,” said Gjaja. “We want our customers to know they made the right decision by choosing a Mustang Mach-E, and we’ll continue to play a proactive role in doing the right thing for those joining the Ford family.”
Ford said the Mustang Mach-E was the No. 3 EV model sold in the United States in 2022, with the company being the No. 2 EV manufacturer behind Tesla.
