RIDE-CT – Classic Cars Celebrating Classic Cars in Connecticut
PORTSMOUTH, RI – It’s one of the most polarizing designs in the history of auto-making, and some would say dressing up a Tesla Cybertruck is like putting lipstick on a pig. Nonetheless, the Newport Car Museum is staging a Cybertruck makeover contest to improve the exterior looks of the top-of-the-line Cyberbeast model that it has acquired for promotional purposes.
“Currently, our Cyberbeast is a stainless-steel canvas waiting for color,” said the museum’s head docent, Vincent Moretti, in a press release. “Its futuristic wedge-shaped design is pretty imposing, so people tend to either love it or hate it, but certainly it’s a curiosity that now fits into the history of the automobile.”
The museum “is asking fans to share their vision of a custom wrap” for the Tesla pickup, either a new design or an existing one spotted elsewhere. The deadline for entries of either a PDF or screenshot is Jan. 15.
The winner will be chosen on Jan. 31 and will receive a lifetime membership to the museum and the satisfied of seeing their design on the model displayed at the museum. More info on the contest may be found here.
