RIDE-CT – Classic Cars Celebrating Classic Cars in Connecticut
MANCHESTER, CT – Any show that has the Batmobile and the General Lee from TV’s past, stretches for three-quarters of a mile on a single city street, and has not only two Edsel models on display but two DeLoreans as well has to be awesome, and Sunday’s Cruisin’ on Main Street show was all that and more.
With hundreds of entries – please don’t ask for an exact number – the show offered something for every classic car lover. The crowd was huge and well-behaved, the organization seemed superb, and the police contingent was friendly and helpful.

Even with the crowd, it was still possible to get up close and admire the old models, which included such defunct brands as Studebaker and Hudson (both shown below).

There were a few old motorcycles to peruse.

From the sports car category, there were a couple of noteworthy two-seater Datsun models (shown below) that were identical except for the name. The model was known as the Datsun 2000 in the United States and as the Fairlady 2000 elsewhere.

The business backdrop provided a colorful element for the taking of photos.

While the muscle cars were easy to label, some models were less easy as the could have fit a few categories.
Some brands liked to hang out together.

The only complaint about the show came later – sore feet for treading so long on the asphalt.
