WATERBURY – Blasius Auto Group has contracted again eliminating its Blasius Mitsubishi dealership in Brookfield and its Blasius North pre-owned vehicle operation in Torrington. The closures have reportedly affected as many as 45 employees, according to a report Wednesday in the “Hartford Business Journal.”
Blasius Mitsubishi was located at 465 Federal Road in Brookfield, while Blasius North was at 1530 East Main Street in Torrington. Blasius Auto Group is headquartered in Waterbury. Its corporate website has deleted the two stores but still lists seven other dealerships selling new and used vehicles in located in Waterbury, Watertown, Branford, Bristol and Stratford.
A hint of the closure of the two stores was noted on Reddit on Tuesday when a person who put down a “multiple-thousand-dollar deposit” on a vehicle reported being “called by a sales person on their personal cell phone and was told all of their dealerships are closing and the sales people were informed around 1 pm today.”
There has been no word from Blasius Auto Group on the status of its other stores or on the company’s financial situation. Online speculation regarding the company’s situation and future has been rampant. The company shuttered another used car store in Middletown earlier this year; the store’s Facebook page showing its final post touting “GREAT DEALS” on March 27.
