With 14 car shows set for either this Saturday (July 8) or Sunday (July 9), the coming weekend promises to be among the busier ones in 2023 for vintage vehicle enthusiasts in Connecticut. The only busier weekend was May 20-21. There are 35 shows still to go in July and more than 100 remaining in the year.
Keeping track of the all the shows is challenging. RIDE-CT’s 2023 Car Show Calendar currently lists more than 225 shows total between late March and the end of October. Rain causes confusion in trying to keep track of postponement dates. The list is always changing because of new shows being announced.
Yesterday, the Fourth of July, brought word that a date for an expected Model A Truck and Car Show at the Merritt Clarke Store in Bantam, CT has been locked in. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. This morning it was learned that the Cruzing New Milford Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 at the John Pettibone Community Center in New Milford, CT.
Also, it was this past Saturday that it was announced that the 2nd annual Sunset Grille Car Show on Aug. 6 at Crestbrook Golf Club in Watertown, CT has been canceled. An injury involving the show’s organizer is the reason.
